What to Expect


Some of our stores have the latest in retinal image capturing where the optician can take a picture of the back of the eye. This gives the optician a more detailed look at the eye and the image can be viewed at a later date if required. It is also important to ask the optician any questions you might have. Common questions are:
  • I suffer from headaches, does that mean I need glasses?
  • When do I need to wear my glasses?
  • How bad are my eyes?
  • Are my eyes healthy, are there are signs of any eye conditions?
  • When should I come back for my next eye test?
  • Is it possible to strengthen my eye muscles?
  • Will wearing glasses make my eyes worse?

    • If you have never had an eye examination before, this is what you might expect:

  • Discuss the reason for your visit
  • Checking your eye sight
  • Checking your outer eye
  • Checking your inner eye
  • Checking your eye muscles
  • Discuss whether you need glasses

    • Additional tests may include:

  • Checking your ocular pressure
  • Checking your visual field
